BOOK PROGRESS:

Here is how it's coming with my goal to send the manuscript to 30 agents...

 

I started with a list yesterday of 27. I intended to send to all of them, but I only sent to 7! Some of them were no longer with the agency and not locatable...some of them are not taking submissions at this time. Some of them, as I read further, did not want, moralistic stories.

 

 I mentioned in the last blog, that I uninformed-ly wrote the story in rhyme and moralistic form ~ 2 things most agents won't touch with a 10 foot pole!

 

 So I'm going to push for a while because I really love the story the way it is overall. I'm not opposed to changing some of the drawings or re-wording some things, but I don't want to write again in a way that it doesn't rhyme. I'll save that for the next book. And if I can't find this one a home through an agent and a publisher, then I will self-publish it. Just so it's in print and looks nice.  And to be honest, I'm so excited to get to THAT point, that in a way, I'm trying to quickly reach my submission goal so that I can get on with it and just self publish the thing!

 

That doesn't mean that I'm rushing through the process of submission, I'm making sure they look professional and that I do my homework on each agent, including reading interviews when they are available. And I did read that ONE...only one so far...actually stated that she will look at anything..."I don't care if it rhymes"...she said. "Definitely sending to her, " I said...and did.

 

So there is a teeny tiny glimmer of hope. We'll see. I just need to find someone who believes in me because I need a little help and would really love to do a series.
